I have a weird enclosed side porch where the previous homeowners put the washer and dryer. I need to make sure the temperature doesn't go too low below freezing. So I need some sort of wifi enabled thermometer so I can make sure it doesn't get too cold and explode. Ideally that lets me set up some kind of alert at 30°F or whatever. Any recs?

Pic for engagement

@Gulfie have you heard of home assistant? if you're willing to set up some software (flashing it on a pi makes it pretty low-maintenance and not super complicated) you can connect a wide range of devices and sensors and have them do all sort of stuff (like push notifications or turning on smart plugs)

@noiob I think this would be an option, but, the initial cost seems kinda high for what I would use it for when I literally just need one sensor

@Gulfie it's prolly not worth it unless you use it for other stuff as well, yeah

@Gulfie oh, if you're technically minded and can do some soldering maybe ESPHome alone would be enough

@Gulfie there's ready-made components for email, telegram, etc notifications
