What's the point of a vest? Are there people out there like, "My arms are plenty toasty but my body is so cold."? Is this a thing people actually experience?
@Balina I have only ever desired an inverse vest. My arms need more coverage than my core.
@taki I think it's kind of a flexibility trade-off? A sweatshirt and a vest isn't as good as just a heavy coat, but you don't have so much bulk on your shoulders. And if you heat up your core enough, it'll at least pump warmer blood to your arms, I guess.
@taki For me, the point of a vest is visual; it creates vertical lines in my appearance to help de-emphasize my waist relative to my chest. It also provides me two extra pockets in case I wear a skirt without any for the day. And it increases my comfort with wearing colored tops.
@taki Vests are almost entirely for layering, yeah.
