SCP idea: a copy of the landmark statistics book A Million Random Digits with 100,000 Normal Deviates, except every time you open the book all the digits change
@glowingskull what i'm wondering is, if that was how it worked, how would anyone notice it?
@typhlosion
Collisions, probably. Or people memorized chunks of the book for fun, like with pi, but then the book changed and they realize something is up. Or maybe low-quality images of the text don't change?
@glowingskull i suppose. but under another interpretation, shouldn't memorization count as a calculation (of the identity function, stored in memory)?
@typhlosion aaaa; some of us use that book as a one-time pad!
Further SCP idea: calculations and other references to the book's contents magically update in response to the book's contents changing. Messages, decrypted with the book one way, now decrypt the same way, but the ciphertext changes.
