my current cell phone, a samsung galaxy s6, is losing battery life and developing overheating problems. does anyone have any good new non-samsung android phones they could recommend me?

things id prefer:
- screen size on bigger end maybe
- little or no bloatware
- easy to customize/root/whatever
- ideally dont have to switch carrier (currently at&t)
- performs good computewise

dont care about camera quality that much really

idk i just need a new phone

@typhlosion We just got a OnePlus 8T and are quite pleased with it! We can't speak to the stock OS as we immediately installed Lineage, but we've heard they're on the better side of stock OSes.

@typhlosion (also it charges /so fucking fast/ holy shit)

@typhlosion i have a oneplus 7 pro and can recommend it, with the caveat that the official android 11 update is buggy. if you install a custom firmware, that shouldn't make a difference, obviously.

it was pretty high-end in 2019, and i bought it this year. imo phones haven't gotten that much better since 2019, and the under $200 i spent for a lightly used one is a better deal than you could get for any new phone.

@typhlosion @agmlego recommended OnePlus to me, and I've been pretty happy with it.
