can anyone recommend an atx computer case that has a bunch of 5.25" drive bays and usb ports and doesn't spend as much effort trying to look like i tore a component out of a spacecraft as most cases these days seem to
@Siph honestly the visual criteria is just because im frustrated with finding cases that have multiple square feet of perfectly good front-panel real estate that they decide to take up with featureless paneling or glass with fans behind it or something rather than allowing me to Use The Front Of My Computer
not very helpful
@typhlosion yes. it's called "a 12U rack, and some 4U chassis from a fly-by-night-lookin-ass company that has been in business for 20 years and has a website that looks about that old"
(I don't have any desktops of my own, and my partner has a bedroom rack that we keep shoving shit into, so I don't have any relevant experience buying tower cases lmao)
@typhlosion It only has two 5.25" drive bays but I like my Fractal Design Define R5. it has 8 3.5" hdd bays and 2 2.5" spots, and 4 usb ports
@typhlosion I have a BeQuiet Dark Base Pro 900 Rev.2 but it's
- expensive
- probably doesn't match your visual criteria
- I think not even sold anymore but I'm not sure
Anyway I'm pretty happy with it
