okay hear me out. theres a lot of empty space inside NES cartridges. what if we, the brave pioneers of the homebrew community, put it to some use
you're sort of limited with what you can get away with unless you want your gimmick to only be visible/usable when you play the game on an NES-101 or other toploading model, but it's still fun to think about
@typhlosion check out Suckerpinch's "reverse emulating the NES" video if you haven't seen it. He put a computer in there
@minterpunct i have seen it! im a big fan. i was thinking more along the lines of gimmicks that would be reasonable to do smallish runs of and sell to gamers like me who love weird stuff like this
@typhlosion yessss...
@typhlosion I've heard of bank-switching, but—

@typhlosion I like these ideas!
@typhlosion good idea for a place to store snacks!
@typhlosion I mean, James, Wade Dankpods' buddy, on his own channel, did make a nes cart that was also a fully functional "nes" with controller ports and such, AND that could also still play itself with a connector, by using a kinda garbo SOC famiclone board. So, that last one is absolutely 100% possible.
