im okay with stuff adding things to my path. im not okay with stuff adding things to the fuckin Top of my path. like damn okay, arrogant, thinking i want to use your inexplicably completely nonfunctional version of git instead of the one i was already using

it should tell me the directory it wants and then i will add it to my nice organised zshenv myself thank you very much

@niss completely understandable. the situation is a little different over here in the sand-blasted wasteland of trying to do software development on windows so im okay with it overall

@Gulfie @typhlosion o i thought this "git that doesn't work" was an exaggerated example. is it... not

@niss @Gulfie in my case, it was devkitpro putting their msys2 dir in front of the msys64 stuff i generally use, which overrode all my stuff like git and ls with versions that... did absolutely nothing for some reason
