Something I've noticed which really piqued my intrigue, and I'd love for others to weight in on, is how the far-left and far-right seem to be attracted to a lot of the same aesthetics. Classically you've got leather punk aesthetics taking after Nazis and Fascists; you've got Fashy Side-shaves versus Queer Side-shaves; Vaporwave versus Fashwave; I don't just mean like "woah some furries are leftist and some are neonazis" cuz duh i mean more like what aesthetics are taken on w Political Identity

If I see a dude in combat boots, a leather jacket, and a shaved head; he's trying to signal some kind of subculture allegiance probably with political connotations; and those political groups *definitely* have very different values (no horseshoe-ing here) but.... is he signalling that he's a neonazi or that he's a ancom punk?

@shel unless I see proof otherwise I'd assume right wing

@vahnj okay but what if his hair is shaved on one side only

now that makes him probably gay and trying to start an IWW chapter at the state uni

@vahnj @shel i think a completely shaved head would signal "right wing until proven otherwise" to me too
