as long as you're comfortable feeding farmed mice snakes are easily some of the most fun pets imo
i love giving them exercise with my hands, and then when they're tired they'll just chill on your heat and are generally very comfy to just live with
they're also a lot easier to find if they get away :)
@vahnj yeah, I was hesitant about snakes at first but I'm fairly onboard with the idea
@Draekos Snakes don't generally like headpats (I got bit by one once oops) but if they grow up being petted elsewhere they are actually good "lap" pets in my experience
@vahnj well, if a bird or dog doesn't happen, I may return to pushing a snek :D

@vahnj my partner and I have been oscillating around between an iguana, a snake, or birds.... we're rather indecisive.
Have you looked into, say, horned lizards? Knew a guy for a while who bred them, cute devils~
