Perceived future trauma, I suppose? On one hand, it seemed inexpertly handled, perhaps due to the desire in the film industry to simply appeal to a perceived demographic.

On the other hand, I want to believe it could have been intended to _at least_ try to prevent triggering folks who had emotional ties to the event—it's just difficult to believe that the film industry actually gave a shit about people over profit.
