Pathfinder, Outlaws of Alkenstar minor spoilers, mostly GM griping.

Why are LvL1 characters expected to deal with a LvL3 RUST ooze?

In a setting explicitly where magic is discouraged and guns are recommended.

Why does it have Resistance 5 to metal weapons, the kind of ammo guns shoot (and struggle to do more than 5 damage with)

It's immune to crit. It can cause Tetanus.

It's followed almost directly by a DC20 engineering check that requires a DC17 (hyper specific) lore check to even remotely dial down. And if you beef the check you just have to deal with a thing with 11 HARDNESS and dishing out like 4d6 damage a turn?

What the FUCK why are modules written like this?

@Draekos The first book of Guns of Alkenstar has really fucking weird decisions in it.

Heavily encourages players to play gun based characters.. Tosses in a bunch of constructs early on that are resistant to physical damage.

Like they are "thematic" enemies for the story but make no fucking sense from the perspective of making the module fun and interesting to play.
