weird?, language, pregnancy

okay what.

so i'm looking through an israeli sign dictionary, and the entry for "embryo" needs to be disambiguated from the word "passing" due to hebrew spelling quirks (the hebrew words are /ubar/ vs /over/, respectively, both spelled עובר)

so to disambiguate, they didn't enter it as "עובר (unborn baby)" or whatever -- instead they chose "עובר (fruit of the stomach)"

like WHAT

i'm stupid, re: weird?, language, pregnancy

aaaaaahhhhhhhh okkkkkkkkk aaaaaaa

it's not exactly "fruit" in this sense, it's more like "fertility" or "creation" because it's a biblical expressionnnnnn and i was thinking in modern hebrewwewwwww

yeah ok that makes much more sense lmao
