I really hate "don't @ me." If you don't want to hear our opinions, don't toot. If I see you saying it (except in jest), honestly, I'm pretty likely to just decide "okay, I can do one better and not communicate with you at all."
If you want your communication here to be one-way, that's your every right -- and it's also my right to make our communication no-way.

@mmsword It just feels so high-handed, like someone's issuing us a goddamn proclamation. There have to be better ways of getting an "I'm not gonna debate this" across to an audience, ones that don't give the impression of someone shooting at me and then immediately waving a white flag. I _get_ it, but I still reserve the right to intensely dislike it. :>

@mmsword But as always, your genuine insight is appreciated, and I trust you to be one of the people who I can rely on to flying-tackle me if I take this shit way too far. <3

@mmsword It was on Masto, from someone with <250 followers -- where I feel it's a bit more like expressing a controversial opinion at a dinner party, then telling everybody to shut up, and retiring to the drawing room in a big preemptive huff before anybody even gets the opportunity to throw a drink in your face. ;p
