Gender, New Shitty Terms, Transphobia (--)
@Phorm Would it be any consolation to hear that I just saw that article discussed on Reddit, and it has been ROUNDLY dismissed? All top /r/science comments on it have been completely negative.
You might even laugh when you hear the details: the whole "study" was based on something like 250 parents. From three anti-trans forums. PERIOD. The article is actually under review by the publisher.
There's nothing to be afraid of here, friend. Promise. *hug*

@zebratron2084 That's pretty utterly laughable and also simultaneously disgusting, if that's how they conducted their study.
I feel a bit heartened now that it looks like the discussion of that article is the methodoloy being torn to absolute shreds. Thank you 💕
Also, I have the same fear that, despite evidence to the contrary, that people will still try to use this as selective evidence to support their transphobic points.
(Also, please bite those people for me. Aggressively. 🐯 )

@Phorm (Actually, on second thought, this is 2018 -- there's plenty to be afraid of because zero factuality and bad methodology don't seem to actually STOP people these days. We'll probably have to endure a bunch of people quoting these "facts" at us anyhow. But we don't have to take them the faintest bit seriously. And frankly, I intend to rhetorically humiliate anyone who ever cites this study at me, publicly and cruelly.)
