Since moving out here, i thought i wanted to be in a larger community, then that largely dissolved and i figured out that i wanted a "family" (insert your favorite less loaded term here).
I've watched as a lot of the ideas get absorbed into furry and largely speaking, i don't need postfurry to fit in, i just needed it as a framework of ideas in which to put together these pieces of my life.

These days it hardly feels like postfurry is A Thing, and folks with longer history could probably say better.
The ideas need to not die though, and that's the only thing that worries me.
Radical furry Self-authorship… if there anything i fear it's that the spaces i searched for for decades will just disappear, and I'll be left feeling alone again… but i know that won't happen… I've love, at least.

It has still highlighted a lot of things. We want stability and something lasting, but a big group isn't it. Gathering around some interests hardly means folks will get along.
I don't know what the next step is or even if there is. Maybe there doesn't need to be. I'll still continue helping people find their way.
I'm not even sure if I'm able enough to do much.

It's bittersweet. Change always is.
Nothing lasts, but nothing is lost.
Now a lot of us (locally) are just trying to… find our place again, and i think that's this nebulous feeling we have in our guts maybe.

I tend to focus on the latter part of that. Nothing is lost. We carry it with us and keep evolving. Postfurry showed me things that i never thought possible, and showed me it was actually possible and valid to live as this self-created nonhuman furry lifestyler. I choose to look at the positives because, as y'all know, i am relentlessly hopeful
