Bragging rights. :D
Also saw one of these, but didn't get a photo due to awful lighting and non-functionality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfuF4jb-Cqc
@Austin_Dern @JulieSqveakaroo Yeah, after the Seattle Pinball Museum (which also has old ballyhoo-style electromechanical tables), that was basically my gold standard for "holy crap, this is an amazing collection," and I was NOT disappointed one bit.
I wish I'd gotten a few snapshots of their workshop. Mind-blowing.
@zebratron2084 @JulieSqveakaroo Silverball Museum in Asbury Park has a few pure mechanicals but not for play. The VFW Ann Arbor had several at the show last week and were great, although one really looked broken; like, nobody could figure how most of the score spots were even possible to reach.
@Austin_Dern
... wait... Ann Arbor as in Michigan? Marvin's Mechanical Marvels is near there!!
@zebratron2084
@JulieSqveakaroo @zebratron2084 Just so! Yesterday's pinball event was finals for the league there. Also I shared a picture of me standing firm against the King Cobra coin-op's fearsome strike.
@Austin_Dern
Nice! We get out there once a year or so on our trip to Detroit!
@zebratron2084
@JulieSqveakaroo @zebratron2084 Well, fantastic! And glad you enjoy the place; it's one of our favorites.
If you're ever out there the (usually) first Friday of the month you can drop in on the pinball league too. It's your casual group-of-four, play-five-games thing, all skill levels welcome.
Sadly not likely... that is a long drive from Milwaukee to get to a first friday... but cool to know it exists!
@JulieSqveakaroo @zebratron2084 Ah, too bad for that, but that's all right. Glad to give you the news about the pinball league existing and all.
@zebratron2084 @JulieSqveakaroo That is very nice and oh gosh a Ballyhoo like the game that gave Bally its name? That is fantastic!
Any place that even has a pure mechanical, even if you can't play it, it, *wow*.
