Spinny and twitchy and bitey today. Not at all likely to take it out on anybody I *like*, but I could just chomp straight through a couple hundred forum commenters today, and follow up by launching the Martian Ouch Missiles straight at every Terran city.

Dunno how much longer I can hold out, without some good news at the national scale or bigger. Real good news, not feel-good crap about someone throwing around money to undo ONE lousy case of a much bigger issue. Next person who tries to pass that off as "heartwarming" is probably the next to be mauled.

I can feel my life priorities sliding, collapsing, from "be as nice as possible and make the world a brighter place" to "bury my own moral failings in the sand and run down the next 0-30 years of life coming to me as quickly, quietly, and inobtrusively as possible."

My dreams, thanks to cannabis withdrawal, are back. It's a pity my hopes expired right before the dreams got back. If I can finish Parallax, never get wrapped up in drama again, minimize contact with political toxins of all creeds, and die peacefully... well, that's an ending. That's enough.

I wish I had something more hopeful for y'all, but between Seattle, DC, and 4chan, all the gleam's been beat right outta me. I'm sorry, or at least struggling to care enough again to be sorry. I still say it ain't nothin' human extinction and raccoon ascension wouldn't fix. >_< ​
