meanwhile in Destiny news I'm -so close- to unlocking both Thorn and Malfeasance. there's something so fascinating and alluring about them from a lore perspective as well as a mechanical one; they aren't necessarily 'optimal' performers, but the way they work is seductively powerful in exactly the way they're described narratively
Thorn is not a weapon for an efficient killer; it's a weapon for someone who savors the feeling of making every game a sunk cost. it will kill your foes even if you're dead; the Sword-Logic of the Hive is not that only those who survive win, but that those who are merciless even in death are the ones who will claw their way back out of the grave.
@hystericempress Thanks to you I wound up digging through Destiny weapon lore, and I REALLY liked this quote:
"Don't hunt 'em 'cause you been wronged. Hunt 'em 'cause what they did was wrong. There's a world of difference there, kid."
