parallax
ok, you grown-up queer furries had BETTER like parallax, because i am not so sure the panel peg just drew is entirely suitable for kids :O
upped the emotional intensity of the story by about 300% though
fuck! i (unironically) hope she's proud, she even got a reaction out of the AUTHOR and i knew this plot element was coming
just... poignance lit with rocket fuel, holy shit
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 i better start reading it then
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave We can even give you a more current edition than we have up on the main page, let us know what you think!
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 oh gosh thanks
i'm pretty sure i'm already throwing money on the patreon
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 oops, i forgot to pledge to the patreon actually. fixed it
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave Thank you so much! And yeah, it's okay if it's a little confusing in the first chapter, there's gonna be a LOT more context about both societies in the second chapter!
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave (Also, there are a lot of edits for clarity planned in the publication draft—do please let us know if there's any plot point you find really confusing or frustrating! That's exactly the sort of thing we're on the lookout for right now...)
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 i will say that it was a little disorienting not really knowing what was going on with the characters -- they seem to be in one place, and then suddenly a totally different one looking different. though i can figure that's because they really are in two different places at once and different
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave Hmm. That is kind of something we were concerned about. Could I trouble you for a couple of specific examples? We could probably either work on some stronger transitions or drop in some extra dialogue to fix it.
And thank you so, so very much for your feedback. We have been kinda starving for this. <3 I'm so glad it's at least looking good, but I am concerned we're running the story a little too fast for it to be easy to follow—this has been a concern of mine since the start...
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 alright, it seems like the first thing is in page 14, where we see different designs for the two main characters that we can tell by the colors that they are them. (maybe colorblind people will have trouble with that?)
like, what are hostframes? some sort of armor thing? i guess so. i would've caught that if i were reading a little more carefully ^_^;
page 25, there they are again. i could be fooled into thinking those things could, like, autonomously do things. one frame out of it, next frame already in go-mode flying wherever.
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave OH! I get it! ^_^
Yeah, they are inside the gigantic versions of themselves that they hopped out of when they first arrived on the station! Hostframes are basically big ol' biological mecha. They show up at the beginning when they hook them up to the local plantlife—they're the things that are taking the samples from the trees. And on p25 you can kinda see them hopping inside them.
We can add a little more detail about that in the dialogue, though! And I might make @anthracite add a clearer transition, maybe another panel early on where we can see them enter their frames in DETAIL. Kirt and Noa are always either hopping into or out of them really fast, now that I go back and look, and... that is kinda confusing.
Thank you! This is all FANTASTIC and I'm making a note to thank you in the acknowledgments.
Would you like a cameo in Chapter 2 (if we get that far) to show our appreciation? <3
re: parallax
@KitRedgrave @anthracite Oh, believe me, it's no trouble—especially if you want to be one of the Mixolynes (Kirt and Noa's side, the space-hippie dryads) instead of the Vek-10 (the other side of the story, the cat and mouse techno-monks). We have a HUGE PARTY SCENE coming up on that side. :)
re: parallax
@zebratron2084 @anthracite oh gosh! kit could really kinda fit in either side, but can definitely be space hippie for convenience of drawing :3 thanks a lot!!
