Poker Quest

I'm still playing this, because it doesn't require my full attention, and since I unlocked the Sorceress it's still worth playing. Her fire gloves are probably the only defense item in the game that can be used on consecutive turns, and the one-for-all and card container give me control over my hand and make me feel more like I'm making real strategic decisions.

It's still impossible, of course. This is the furthest I've gotten, having squeaked past the Kraken boss of world 3 only to be obliterated into a fine mist by this spicy gumdrop.

@Cerulean I've made it to 4 with Rogue and would be delighted to trade tips sometime! I find myself having the best luck when I can max out on items that only take 1-2 cards plus one many-card item, plus a standard draw big enough to feed them, ignoring all else. i have no IDEA if that's the right path or not... god, basic supply management in this game is so harsh and the food mechanic alone is just brutal so i share all of your frustration...

@zebratron2084

I take the Rogue for the occasional "start with a Bottled Shop and money" run. Otherwise, it's all Sorceress all the time, and I prioritize upgrading the gloves, enchanting them if possible, and getting my hands on some kind of non-picky axe. And a Wand of Clarity as soon as it shows up.

Weirdly, I don't tend to have problems with food supply anymore, and I think it's just because I've learned to never pass it up, especially from a farm. Swap markets are only good for trading energy for food. At towers, I raise my ceiling for energy but never buy it directly because it will fill up by itself. Same goes for gems most of the time.

@Cerulean Yeah, weirdly axes seem to be consistently a little OP, maybe just because they're one of the few things you can dump a fair number of cards into without some crazy hand...
