This is why I actually like Subway. On road trips, when I stop in a small town for lunch, Subway is usually the best option.

@KinkyTurtle High five. I can tell you've done some real traveling. Subway is almost always the best chain option at a rest area -- thus usually the best option on any given Greyhound trip, except for this ONE PANCAKE HOUSE somewhere in St Regis Montana...

Oh wow, I didn't think to look at the link until just now. That looks like an AMAZING place to stop during a trip! If I'm ever passing through Montana again I want to check it out! It reminds me of Little America in Wyoming, only bigger!
(I've passed through Montana exactly once, and I've got kind of a funny story about that if you'd care to hearead it.)

Seattle, Montana
My Montana story is actually about Seattle. After a few bad flying experiences, I decided to swear off flying and just drive to every con I wanted to go to. But two of them were in Seattle: RainFurrest and Everfree NW. And poking around in Google Maps, I came to the conclusion I couldn't possibly drive from Houston to Seattle in less than 6 days. Maybe 5 if I really pushed it.
Then one year, I wanted to go to MediaWest*Con (an ooold all-purpose fancon in Lansing, MI) and then Everfree NW. Problem was, they were on subsequent weekends. Attending them both would involve driving from Lansing to Seattle in just four days!
Anybody else would probably say "Nah, screw THAT", but not me! I was like "Bring it ON." So I did it! It was hard and tiring, and I was on the road till late in the evening EVERY day of the drive. But it was fun and I loved it! And then on the week-long drive home from Seattle, I stopped in Colorado and visited Pike's Peak.
OK now here's the funny part. Some time after that trip, I was curious how much farther it is from Houston to Seattle than from Lansing to Seattle. So I poked around in Google Maps some more.
Turns out it's about the same distance! Roughly 2300 miles!

There's a Mexican restaurant on the interstate in Hazen, AR called El Amigo Feliz. I've eaten there a few times, and I know it's good because I went in and there were a lot of Mexicans dining there!
