Sorry I'm slow this week, I'm still processing the discovery that on first-generation Saturday Night Live they only did the Festrunk Brothers, Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd as "two WILD and CRAZY GUYS!", three times. I'd had the impression it was one of those sketches they did almost every week and, no, three times, that's it.

They did Wayne's World 16 times between the 1989-90 and 1991-92 TV seasons, and then a couple times after that, which seems more reasonable overall.

Wikipedia has no information on how many different Hanz and Franz sketches there were. The true answer is, of course, one.

Technically fun fact: the crawler-transporters NASA uses to bring rockets from the Vehicle Assembly Building to the launch pad are nicknamed Hanz and Franz.

Only eleven Coneheads sketches, wow. (Though Wikipedia doesn't list one where they facetiously announced they were starting 'The New Coneheads', which, fair if you don't count that.)

@Austin_Dern MEBS. UNACCEPTABLE. UNACCEPTABLE. RETURN TO THE ION BOMBARDMENT CITADEL AT ONCE AND DEMAND TO SPEAK TO THIS LORNMIKELZ! *bweeeeeeooooop*

@zebratron2084 Not to worry, it's essential to getting the characters right.

(And they were mostly likeable doofuses. I'm about 25% sorry the Hanz-and-Franz movie musical didn't get made. Coneheads were much more likeable but, ooh, boy, that movie ... )

@Austin_Dern MEBS. THERE WAS NO MOVIE. MEBS. DO NOT DISCUSS MOVIE. MEBS. MEBS.
