This collection of promos from 1980s Nickelodeon is the strongest I can distill my childhood, without the risk of poisoning you with glitter hairspray and white noise.

@zebratron2084 Had not seen these! We didn't have cable until the late 80s.

@zx3 Do you remember any particular titles? There's a LOT out there on Youtube if you know where to look! Let's see, I've found old episodes of The Third Eye, I've found a little bit of... *refers to Wiki* Pinwheel, Today's Special, Hocus Focus, a few Livewire clips, Eureeka's Castle (which came out EMBARRASSINGLY late for me to have nostalgia for it but I REGRET NOTHING :> ), UFO Kidnapped, Out of Control, Spartacus...

@zx3 Oh my god, yes. I've found those too, dammit I just can't remember what they were called. Time to pull out my strongest Google Fu... *charges up*

@zx3 The big tragedy for me is old instructional television. Like, the really low-budget stuff produced by local PBS affiliates in the 70s and 80s, with lots of funky analog effects and surreal set design. Letter People and stuff, though that's the easy one to find. Most of those tapes were under *strict* use-and-erase limits so they weren't preserved at all, and it was just so needless. It was such a trove of early video-era aesthetics, just gone. :(
