Pineapples contain lots of Bromelain an enzyme that digests (breaks down) proteins. When you eat pineapple that enzyme is digesting the walls of your mouth and tongue hence the burning, pricking sensation. The pineapple is digesting and eating you!
i prefer fruits and veg that don't bite back.

Im still wary of it because of the time my grandmother bought me sickly sweet pineapple glazed donuts because i liked krispy kreame original glazed.

My grandmother is the type of person who if she hears you like something will keep buying you it till you're sick of it. I still cant drink ginger beer unless im really nauseous and need the ginger to settle stomach.
My poor grandfather has been stuck eating chicken rissoles and mash for over a decade because it was the first thing he was able to and liked to eat after having throat cancer removed.
