Brainstorming
Brainstorming... What are the fae elements. Would be based off of feelings, emotions, I'd think... themes that fit well in a story. Fire and ice seem clear. The heat of passion, desire, inspiration... The chill of apathy, despair, listlessness... But what other elements? 5 would be ideal, particularly if I could match them to my current suits. Fire matches blades, ice matches crowns, easy.... That'd leave Forces, Myths, and Masks
Brainstorming
Lightning is a no go, its symbolic feelings simply lead to fire. Earth and water almost seem connectable, but how? Is air separate? Maybe breath... The sensuality and fleetingness of life, as separate from fire? Where fire consumes, breath simply is...
What of light? Or wood? Oh, maybe wood would be earth and water's aspects... Wood could potentially be forces. The natural world, maybe?
I like the idea of Myths being Light somehow... Is there darkness? Or is that included?
Brainstorming
Sometimes an opposing element can be an interesting thing... other times, the element can simply include the opposition to itself. Light creates shadows. Or perhaps the objects in front of it do... but regardless, shadows are part of the package. That isn't the case with fire or ice. What even would be darkness?
What other elements are common to use.... Senses, sound and smell... Adventure time uses candy and slime, which I admit is fascinating.
Brainstorming
Maybe start with aspects of feelings that are important to stories, and pare it back after getting a solid list...
Perseverance
Inspiration
Desire
Despair
Jealousy
Rivalry
Love
Pride - Self
Pride - Progeny
Comfort
Fear
Wanderlust
Nostalgia/homesickness
Curiosity
Sympathy
Lust
Vision - feeling connected to the cosmos
Plenty more I'm sure....
The goal of all this brainstorming is to have a LOT of ideas to work with, to open my mind so that I am not caught in the eye of my own thoughts, the single minded focus that obscures truths by limiting perspective.
brainstorming
Perspective is important. That's a huge thing about stories, they're always true if you understand the perspective they're coming from. Or truth, at least, can be gleamed from them... that's an important aspect of my tarot... So then, what about using perspectives...
Self, other, friend, foe... Or maybe collective, self, outsider...
maybe author, reader, protagonist, antagonist, bystander...
Maybe this is too far back, maybe this is just another layer, or more to do with spread
Also just to like, actually share how my own creative process goes, to open myself up to others.
