we need to focus on conserving the most critically important species for our biosphere. we're going to lose thousands of species, but speaking pragmatically many of them are extraneous for the overall survival of the ecosystem, as long as their role in the ecosystem overlaps with another species it isnt critical. life will re radiate to fill the lost niches if we can prevent total ecological collapse.
