[1.Ch.] Endgame (Spoilers)
Upon reflection, Endgame is, for me, less than the sum of its parts.
Yes, it has many good moments. Yes, the ending is a tearjerker. Yes, the gay nod and the A-Force lineup and your fave got a cool moment. Everyone gets a cool moment.
Except Nebula and Black Widow. Nebula shoots her past self in a setting that can't be assed to explain whether that's suicide in the present. Natasha commits suicide on an alien planet so Hawkeye can come home to his family.
[1.Ch.] Endgame (Spoilers)
I wanted to love this film. I can't.
I can't love a film whose prequel sets up a showdown between Thanos and Captain Marvel, then ends by having her deliver the gauntlet to Tony so the character who can't _not_ martyr himself (seriously, he tries in almost every MCU film) can blow himself up.
I can't love a film that tortures its female heroes in the dark and can't even honor their struggles with a nod during the rich white guy's funeral gala.
[1.Ch.] Endgame (Spoilers)
I can't love a film that starts by having Thor murder a helpless old man in cold blood, even if he is Thanos; that was revenge, period, and yet somehow he was still worthy enough to wield his hammer, which he stole out of time.
I can't love a time travel film that consciously shits on its own continuity for fan service.
I can't love a film that criticizes Thor for not wanting to join the team, then lets Captain Marvel walk, especially after saying she's instrumental.

@orrery I don't agree they wrote the women off, but yeah the fat jokes were o.O. Thor getting drunk as fuck and fat makes complete narrative sense as does Rocket being a dick about it, but the movie was laughing w Rocket, which doesn't.
