At this point, I don't know why anyone, anywhere, under any circumstances would believe - even for a second - that anyone will suffer any consequences for unlawful, unethical, or cruel behavior.
They're going to get away with it, so we might as well stop giving them an excuse to put the boot on our throat.
re: US pol (--)
@Phorm cause they don't need a reason and might as well give them the finger worst case?
re: US pol (--)
@Phorm Ehhh no on that one. Dumbasses got thumped in November it's a matter of keeping the momentum up.

@Doephin
Not really?
I mean, that's not looking good this time around.
And even if it works out in 2020, that doesn't solve anything?
The court is perma-fucked now, and RBG is not likely to be around until 2020.
But even BESIDES that, the problem is that this isn't the FIRST time.
We're where we are because the GOP never plays by the rules, never faces consequences for amoral and cruel behavior, and people genuinely embrace racism and bigotry.
Watergate, Iran Contra... No consequences. That lesson was well learned.
So, if 2020 goes swimmingly, progress to unfuck this mess will take decades.
How long until the next inhumane asshole rolls in undaunted, takes power, and shits all over everyone? There's no consequences if they do, after all.
