Cranky PSA re tone policing 

Not inspired by anyone here, FYI.

I see way too much discourse lately where people use "don't tone police me" as an excuse to be an asshole.

Look. Bringing up tone policing is a useful thing. A lot of things society thinks are polite really aren't, and just because you're mad isn't a reason to negate the argument.

But it's not a catch-all "I can hurt whoever I want, nah" thing. That's just you being an asshole.

This post brought to you by trans folk screaming at other trans folk for going to pride. Because the second group makes too much you see. >.<

Related note: Just because someone is marginalized doesn't mean they are required to agree with your politics. Still people, folks. Got to convince them the same as anyone else.
