Today Evernote reminded me it has a new version on iOS and once more it is incredibly sluggish to boot up and has added even *more* extra taps between “opening the app” and “making a note”. I am so not looking forwards to figuring out which cloud note solution sucks the least when I don’t renew my 11-year-old subscription this November. or just say “fuck it all” and find a suite of native apps that me and @zebratron2084 can sync via (insert sync backend here).
Every time I look at the current state of iOS Evernote I am angry because it used to be a really slick, well-designed tool that I never had to think about, and now it is just so slow and annoying, and clunky, with every release adding new stuff that I am sure looks good in some UI designer’s portfolio but just gets in the way of what I actually want to use the thing for.
@anthracite the fact that modern software is never Done and they can ruin it forever with a patch you can't say no to is one of my biggest annoyances with how we do things

I am still using EN mostly because I could say “wow fuck this new version” on the desktop and revert to the old one that actually works. Once that breaks from an OS update...
