"Politics" I guess, everything is terrible
Fuck. Chuds found out State Farm was donating kids books about trans people to school kids in Florida and successfully bullied them into dropping the program. They're wildly emboldened and they're going to keep steamrolling until they can just go around murdering us with impunity. They're already on a roll with the groomer/pedophile bullshit, and no one with the authority to stop it seems interested in doing anything about it.
I don't know how to combat this crap. They've made my _existence_ a political wedge. I just want to fucking LIVE without fear one of my neighbors will decide to execute me for being trans. x_x

@zannah so it turns out literally every source I can find on this on this links back to the Washington Examiner or Libsoftiktok.
Two sites that are, ah, not noted for having strong relations with the truth. Non-zero chance this never happened at all.

@zannah I mean still possible because corporate people are dipshits, but the timing was weird as hell too. It started trending yesterday near the end of east coast time zone, supposedly pulled same day?

@Doephin Ugh, well, not fake it turns out. Found a real source on it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/05/24/state-farm-lgbtq-childrens-books/
re: "Politics" I guess, everything is terrible
@Doephin yeah, I saw announcements about the program existing earlier in the day followed by what looked like concerted efforts at bullying and then “yay we beat the woke they killed it” late. Very quick for that sort of progression, if real. The narrative is “we threatened to cost them millions in subscribers if they didn’t stop, now let’s do that to any other company that supports LGBTQ+ folks”. Even if it’s fake, that’s the part that worries me.
