So I'm experiencing the "can't taste or smell anything" symptoms of COVID super hard and I've been lucky enough with the other symptoms that I'm having fun testing out what that enables me to do. :blobowoevil:

cw: eating weird tasting food

I can still taste things with the very back of my mouth, but I can wholesale bite into a lemon and just think to myself "oh hey that's probably sour"

But like, I put a splenda in a coffee and it tastes... like just mildly sweetened water. :bloboh:

I ate two full mouthfulls of cilantro with dinner tonight. :bloblaugh:

cw: eating hot things, COVID affecting my body's capsaicin response

I also covered a jalapeño with chili garlic paste and some sriracha on top and chomped that down, and it tasted very faintly tangy like the vinegar in the chili garlic paste. :blobwaitwhat:

The weirdest thing: no tears, no gobs of snot like there _always_ is when I eat hot things... none of it. I blew my nose to make sure, almost nothing was there. Completely dry.

That's never happened to me before. Never. :blobopenmouth:
