Today is not my day; I lost twice to the same gambit in successive matches. Kings must be well-defended at all times, lest a queen -- which can move in _all_ diagonals -- find an attack vector several moves ago.
Also, interesting quirk: The "beginner" CPU will put up with "some" timeline shenanigans; I can create two or three and it plays along. The "average" CPU seems to only branch under very dire circumstances, but if I branch time it will start pulling aggressive time shenanigans like "six or seven branched timellines" or "move all pieces to one timeline" and even "move queens into the same timline to branch it to make more queens".
The "advanced" CPU comes in two flavors: 'balanced' and "aggressive.' At some point, I will brave the aggressive advanced CPU, if only to see how long I can hold out against a force that can reckon with that many directions at once.

@orrery Is it smart enough to use the new timeline limit against you? I haven't tried past beginner
