Gulfie plays Fallout 4
I started fallout 4 last night and jeez it needed polish wow
The minutemen mission where the deathclaw shows up, it spawned out of proc radius so I was just standing there with no enemies around like "I killed everyone tho" and looked around for like ten minutes before I stumbled into him 200 feet away from the mission location
The controls are also horrible both on keyboard and with a controller. Character creation screen looks like a debug menu and I couldn't enter a name with a controller connected. The base building is tedious and the UX for it is just awful. Ugh I wanted to like this game.

The buttons to navigate the onscreen build menu are the same buttons you use to interact with placed items so you have to do shit like walk out of a building to pick a chair to build so you don't accidentally try to delete the building

Maybe there are fallout 4 mods to fix the build mode, that would be enough to make me enjoy the game I think

The ideal would be "click one button and build the perfect settlement" because if I wanted to optimize and design a house I would play The Sims

@Gulfie The mod Sim Settlements has City Plans, which mostly allow the settlements to build themselves. You can also just ignore the settlement system entirely if you want. The Minutemen questline needs it, but only a fairly minimal amount

@Doephin oh thank God. I was doing the minutemen quest and went "oh god this is gonna be half the game isn't it"
