Out of curiosity, how many languages has your work been translated into? In thinking of Starter Villain, how do they handle specific American pop culture references?
@charleshbryan I've been translated into three dozen languages at this point. In terms of pop culture references, translators will often either add footnotes to give context, or swap out the American pop culture reference for one their intended audience will get.
@scalzi @charleshbryan Translations would drive me mad as an author. It must take so much trust, given that for more of those you probably can't check their work yourself
