Administration: Find a non-critical server not coming back online after a patch night. Report issue to team responsible for that server to have them fix it in the morning.
#Admaxistration: Connect to the server's ILO card, flip it back on, only to find that it's booting via PXE when it should be booting via HDD0. Fix the boot order, and tell the team responsible that you fixed the problem yourself.

on the flip side, i do kind of want to learn about the fresh hell that is storage, especially since it goes hand-in-hand with virtualization these days...even though i work for a company that is primarily pushing customers towards Azure (MS Gold Partner, after all... :v)

me: huh, let's set up a FreeNAS server I can use for my PC backups. Maybe I'll use it as a dry run for a home NAS build.
