@irisjaycomics I have so many fucking feelings about that game and everything around it. Problem is it's a pile of negative and wondering if that negativity is actually justified.
@irisjaycomics I mean a lot of the problems with it is that it's very much just taking a rulebook writen in 1988 and only really updating the parts that are safe to.
They COULD do so much more with it, they COULD and they're taking the path that feeds fans of cyberpunk aesthetic, but not cyberpunks.
@Draekos @irisjaycomics Corporate game development is likely so focused on profit and deadlines that they've chosen to ignore the distinction, or they aren't subtle enough to realize there is one. It's probably both.
As someone with a more than passing interest in making an "augmented people future" game, what sort of signifiers would most clearly express or show what you actually want from such a game?
@kelseyhusky going to drop Iris from this, as she seemed to not want in on this sort of chatting?
Notably, I'd like a game that settles more on telling a story of someone truly repressed in the system. PoC or queer folks who dealing with police violence. a game that actually leans into Punk.
but it's corproate game dev, we'll never get it but I'm upset that that's the case.
