This #Backslash art is made using the #MegaNoir style, whose manifesto is thus:
📺 Flat colours using a palette derived from 9-bit YIQ
▤ Shading and highlights on characters using a line halftone, in the style of CRT scanlines
▥ Backgrounds using a limited palette, with a line halftone perpendicular to the character's tone for visual interest
▣ Character silhouette with heavy dark line, in the style of 16-bit sprites and of cel animation
😺 Character design inspired by Mesmer, and rubberhose (spherical heads, curved limbs, large eyes, homunculus proportions)
😿 Dark storytelling of adult problems, broken promises, and chaos control, deliberately contrasted against the toyetic, child-friendly designs. The dream has been cast away to the ages.

Three bits for luminance, four bits for color phase (hue), two bits for chroma amplitude multiplier (saturation)?
SNES-style wavetable sound for moodier, subtler textures than FM synth? Or that PC adventure game AdLib sound?
