So, yes, the TV can be told to enter its menu even without the remote. You just press the both the on-TV volume buttons at the same time.

And they *mean* the same time. It'll take maybe ten attempts to press within its concept of "simultaneous".

Oh, and they're touch buttons, not physical, so its concept of "press" is more "a finger is quite close".

GDI, it's easier to launch a nuclear missile. Actually, maybe it does that too. Sorry about that.

@porsupah At one point my PC monitor stopped responding to brightness controls and the like. I did way too much software troubleshooting before I discovered the real culprit.

I'd accidentally brushed two of the monitor's "buttons" at the same time and activated a compltely undocumented "feature" of tutning off DDC/CI.

Sure, touch-sensitivity is neat and all, but even though the buttons may not break, the user just might.

@ElectricKeet Oh, *wow*. How on earth did that get in? At least here it was documented and has a visible, non-impeding function, however awkwardly implemented.
