This thread has been brought to you by listening to youtube.com/watch?v=H91QXNr41F and forming this vivid headcannon that this song more or less represents Twilights taste in music (laid back indie rock with some classical) only to realize that Twilight Sparkle does have something close to a canonical taste in music, as shown with her DJ Pon3 band shirt and her stanning an EDM musician in Equestria Girls.

@Owlor She probably enjoys both! In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she has some specific genre associations to help keep her in the mindset of whatever she's doing. Classical for research, indie rock for puttin' pen to paper, EDM for booty-shakin'....

IIMTAMC (If I may talk about my character), Millimax is a gentle artist and healer whose fave band "Go Krodd Go" is something like ska mixed with death metal. There's no accounting for musical tastes. *grin*

@ElectricKeet Twilight, especially sci-twi, seem to enjoy the technological and scientific aspect of electronic music, but we both know she's no stranger to getting freaky on the dancefloor.

I wonder if Twilight would like ska based purely on the way she dances, that's skanking if I ever saw it.

@ElectricKeet In my experience, you meet the sweetest, kindest person, but pass them the aux and they'll blast the most severe shit ever. I think maybe they get most of their agression out in their music so when they go about their day, they are nice and mellow. The aggretsuko method.
