@Owlor I cut my teeth on bitmap fonts, which are way easier to get to an acceptably usable and decent-looking state. (For those of us who like bitmap fonts, anyhow.)
Has anyone introduced you to FontStruct yet? https://fontstruct.com/ – build vector fonts like Lego, and not just square ones.

I may have to give GoToSocial a spin, just to see how portable and easy it actually is. Still early days, but it seems to be shaping up very well as an alternative to the giant jenga tower of Mastodon.

Pushed a quick update to [a circle made of squares] - https://packbat.itch.io/a-circle-made-of-arrows - to handle the blinking issue: the current behavior can be selected as an option, but the new default behavior is that bricks are hidden if you cursor over a tile with bricks and hold the [x] button.
This hopefully will be less obnoxious (if more cumbersome) way to see what the arrows are under the bricks.
