how the hell did nintendo fuck up the controller design so badly this time around?
the gamecube controller and the wii u pro controller are some of the most ergonomic and reliable controllers we've used but the switch joycons and pro controller both fall very short of the mark
@monorail they're not bad ergonomic-wise, though they coul dbe better
I'm more complaining about the extremely poor joysticks that have too little travel distance, feel wrong, and most of all are so poorly designed that getting dusty can make them permanently bias to one direction
our left joycon is unusable because the analog stick gets stuck reading left when it's centered
@Felthry ah yeah that does suck
i was able to fix my messed up joycon with a couple squirts of compressed air under the dust skirt, fwiw
@monorail tried that already, didn't fix anything. did temporarily make it drift up instead of left though
still, they could have easily avoided this by using a different type of joystick
@Felthry i'm not a huge fan of the switch pro controller (though a lot of people love it) but i was incredibly surprised by how comfortable i found the joycon
like i've got huge paws and was already making jokes about them cramping before the switch released but i really like the joycon
