this harassment training program thing we're required to do for work seems to really emphasize specifically illegal harassment and the laws about it instead of, you know, actually making sure you don't harass people
it seems focused on "remember, if you harass people, do it for these reasons, not these" instead of just "don't harass people"
@Felthry ???!!?!
cynicism, harassment culture
@Felthry is this whole program built around accommodating harassers within the law by guiding them to forms of harassment they can get away with and forcing their victims into a double-bind between "they didn't write anything down so they must not have been harassed" and "they threatened to sue over a joke, they're just oversensitive"?
@Felthry ...yikes.
also apparently "confront the people and tell them you're uncomfortable" is apparently the wrong answer for when people are making you uncomfortable but you aren't intimidated by them, apparently the right answer is to send them an email threatening to sue them if they don't stop
what??
