I love em to bits. they are not a good format, but they are a beautiful looking and wonderfully designed format that feels really nice in the hand and makes nice noises and is ... i dnno, is "stimmy" the right word?? I really enjoyed playing with them, wiggling the disc with the turny bit, and flipping open the cover occasionally to have a peek.
also the translucent ones were best. gotta see that disc inside <3
@Felthry Yeah, it didn't do great in the US, but in the EU and Japan it did fairly well until the mid or late 90s apparently? Either way though it... didn't last. Few people - if any - released pre-recorded albums on it basically, though the competing digital cassette format also didn't take off, both kinda got taken out by solid state storage.
