now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

Already have:
Chrono Trigger
Illusion of Gaia
Lagoon (oof)
Donkey Kong Country
Super Mario World

Want:
Super Mario All-Stars
Terranigma (repro cart)
Super Metroid
Mega Man X (at least the first one)
maybe some Donkey Kong Country games?
A Link to the Past
Secret of Evermore
(_not_ Secret of Mana because we (will) have the Mana Collection)

Anyone know any other classics or hidden gems we should add to this wishlist?

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

oh! of course Final Fantasy II (IV) and III (VI) too

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

oh yes and Kirby Super Star

@Felthry

Actraiser

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@JulieSqveakaroo Actraiser is that weird combo platformer-slash-god-game right?

@Felthry Mega Man 7?

Also I'm pretty fond of Actraiser.

(Also now I'm curious about Lagoon. :P)

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@BatElite Lagoon is a game we only bought because it was $5 and because we knew it was _infamously_ bad

there've been runs of it at either GDQ or RPGLB, I forget which--they're rather entertaining to watch

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry Oh yeah, that beautiful thing. :P

I would be tempted to just collect the horrible games on a given system.

@Felthry FF Mystic Quest is, I think, underrated. It's nowhere near as deep as a real FF game, but for all its simplicity it's still fun and has good music. Sometimes "Diet Final Fantasy" is what you want.

@Felthry SMRPG, perhaps?

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@myst ooh, good suggestion, we'd forgotten about that one

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry Oh, and earthbound is another one we generally hear is very good

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@myst the reason Earthbound isn't on that list already is primarily because used copies go for somewhere in the vicinity of $300

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry oh, yeah, right. was just trying to give suggestions, sorry :/
...you might want to get a sd2snes, actually

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@myst no need to apologize, you're fine!

and yeah that might be a good idea

now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry Also, Yoshi's Island is a definite classic. Also Castlevania IV, another favorite of mine.

now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry Ooh, and Actraiser. Soul Blazer too if you can find it. I'll stop now because I don't want to spam you with more suggestions; the SNES is my favorite console.

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@dodec I don't mind suggestions!

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@Felthry

Okay then! Now that I'm home and have access to my library, here's more recommendations:
Demon's Crest
Earthbound (maybe; I didn't really get into it as much as others, but YMMV)
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Lemmings, if you've never played it before
Super Adventure Island (very short game but a wonderful Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack)
Super Bomberman (they get better as the series progresses)
Super Mario Kart
Super Mario RPG

re: now that we have an SNES, a wishlist of games for it:

@dodec We'll look into those! Earthbound is probably a bit much for our wallet though.
