random question because I heard someone pronounce it in a way we're not used to hearing: how many syllables does the word auxiliary have?
@dodec Yeah, I'm not saying any pronunciation is right or wrong! I've just never heard the five-syllable form before so I'm curious how common it is

@Felthry I've heard "aux-IL-ee-air-y", "aux-IL-yer-ee", and "aux-IL-er-ee", and I don't think any of them are necessarily wrong. Just different accents. The "x" can come out unvoiced as /ks/ or voiced as /gz/, too. So that makes six ways to pronounce it.
