oh yeah we also got a chance to watch Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind over the holidays too! we took our brother to a used game+movie store to let him pick a gift and found a copy of it while we were there (as well as Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Princess Mononoke! of course we ended up getting all of them, but they stayed at the family's house)

we can definitely see why people praise that movie so much. it was outstanding.

i feel like we should try to get copies of all the Ghibli movies, really

we don't own any of them at our apartment and they would be nice to have a collection

I know we at least want to have

- My Neighbor Totoro
- Castle in the Sky
- Howl's Moving Castle
- Pom Poko
- Spirited Away
- Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
- Princess Mononoke
- Kiki's Delivery Service

Not sure if the others interest us that much, though we may have missed some, these are just the ones we can think of

unrelatedly, we understand *why* they did it of course but the use of "raccoon pouch" in the dub of Pom Poko is really silly. clearly they couldn't release it with its intended rating if they didn't censor it somehow, but really!

and just calling them raccoons instead of tanuki, which I can only assume is because a lot of people in the west don't know what tanuki are (a situation that really should be rectified because they're *adorable*)
