when you think about the economics of electronic components it can feel a little weird
$11.62 for an extremely precisely cut and packaged piece of very thin aluminum foil, only a few milligrams of metal in the thing (0805 resistors typically weigh 5 grams per thousand, counting the plastic part)
the price of these is almost 100% cost of manufacture. the cost of materials, even using highly-purified aluminum and copper, is minuscule

and if you compare this to the not extremely precise ones (but still pretty precise!) in the same package and same resistance... $11.40 gets you five *thousand* of these, for less than the cost of *one* of the ultra-precise Vishay ones
