there are certain semiconductor devices that we just find... pleasant

like they feel like they have a nice personality or something

like the TL431, or the LM1117, or the 2N2222

@monorail honestly

i was wondering the same thing as i wrote that

@Felthry @monorail

tbh with a name like 2n2222

I mean it's gotta be pleasant. It's already pleasant to look at.

@nautilee @monorail i like these little metal can packages. they're just neat

@Felthry @monorail

a top-hat shaped friend!! probably a very gentleperson.

@monorail we've met someone in the past who had a form of synaesthesia where they felt personalities for numbers so it's not out of the realm of possibility

@Felthry yeah, i haven't actually met anyone who has it but i've certainly seen people talking about their synaesthesia and i've heard that before as well

@monorail @Felthry I do. Mine is primarily tactile: emotions have associated physical sensations (e.g. terror feels like something sharp pressing on my back, satisfaction feels like warm running water over my heads) and spoken sounds have textures in my mouth.

@Terrana @monorail something we've always kind of wondered, if you don't mind my asking: does it go both ways? Does warm water running over your heads give you a feeling of satisfaction (beyond the normal satisfaction of a nice warm shower, anyway)?

@Felthry @monorail No, but I think it's associative. Feelings tend to bring up experiences that would, themselves, make me feel that way, like the aforementioned warm shower.
