if you've never heard of the viewtiful joe series, it's worth a look
it's not *good* by any means, pretty decidedly mediocre, but the concept is certainly unique.
it's an over-the-top beat-em-up where you play as a superhero with powers based around low-budget cinematography visual effects--for instance, you can trigger a dramatic slowdown at any time, and while in the slowdown state your punches do more damage. you also have special moves that you can only do while the camera is zoomed in
(note: we are not into beat-em-ups so it's possible this is actually a really good one for all we know. we just didn't enjoy playing it, despite thinking the concept is really interesting
the concept is also a little too over-the-top for us to enjoy actually playing, even if it is intentionally leaning into the cheesiness of it, but that's just preference and it's still a silly concept that we find amusing)
I guess the principle is that instead of the camera doing a dramatic zoom when you do a special attack, you control the camera and can only do those special attacks while doing a dramatic zoom. The game doesn't go in slow-motion to make a punch look more impactful, you set it into slow-motion to actually make your punches more impactful
it's ridiculous
oh and it's also an isekai so it has that level of over-the-top too
